Because good reviews are outweighed by hordes of stans giving their faves 10/10. People are either giving really low scores or really high scores as a result. In most cases, the review comes secondary to the score they want to give.

This is true, when it comes to reviewing the main pop girls stuff sadly. It's kinda hard to regulate it tho, unless you wanna restrict who can do reviews.
But this is still better than nothing.

***Flawless has been the only reviewed record that has seen such a polarising response in terms of perfect and extremely low scores/grades. Maybe the song really did just divide opinions, or maybe you're correct in assuming that it was just simple stanning and trolling. But considering it has only happened once out of nine times to this extent, your notion seems pretty flawed. If these distinctly contrasting scores continue to be given with the majority of further major releases, then I guess I could see myself agreeing with you to a certain degree. But until then maybe you shouldn't be so dismissive of the idea and try to enjoy this concept for what it is.

Giving an object review isn't a requirement or a goal.
We are music fans that participate in stan wars, after all.

It only takes 5 sentences, and they can literally be as basic as they come. I'm talking 4/5 word sentences if you cannot think of anything to say. Come through Barbz!

Luckily, the only positive Katy Perry tactics will influence is more exposure to this thread.

I was just pointing out the obvious and told them to write a review. They could have came in and gave it 3/10, and some Barbz did score that low. Plus in my initial comment I said it might and it might not be stanning/trolling. I don't know how that quoted comment seems to make any difference.

After days of speculation and rumors that a collaboration between the reigning Queen of R&B Beyoncé and female rapper Nicki Minaj would soon arrive, the world was on the edge of their seat in anticipation, wondering when the song would surface. Well, the huge collaboration did last weekend where millions were shook by two of the most powerful women in music on the track. With two artists as big as Nick Minaj and Beyoncé on a track, you'd think the song would be also be of quality? Well, sort of. Beyoncé kicks off the song with a rap that comes off slightly try hard but does sound good, minus the eighty layers of autotune they covered her voice in. Who's idea was that? It becomes unbearable at points until the chorus kicks in and you can finally find yourself singing along to the song. Though Yoncé's verses are well written lyrically (A BILLION DOLLARS ON AN ELEVATOR, I must admit I got my life) they are god awful melody wise. At points that sound completely awkward and well terrible. If you're going to remix your own song (that is already exceptional) make sure your verses are good, Miss Knowles. Moving on to the real rapper on the track, Nicki Minaj. Nicki Minaj sounds just at home on the track as she raps about being flawless, instagram pics, MJ's doctor, and bitches being washed up. Washed up? Minaj IS aware she's on a track about empowering women, right? Not very empowering don't you think, Nicki? Minaj's flow is as usual great and her lyrics are average for her. Overall the song is just average. A remix that with such star quality on it, leaves you incredibly underwhelmed.

If you're talking about ***Flawless, people giving it 8/10s, 9/10s, and 10/10s are not at all out of line with literally all the major publications. If people love it, they love it. What you should be questioning is the 0s, 1s, and 2s that people give to purposefully drag down a good score.
But it's none of my business. Lemme listen to this Pixie Lott album.

It's more in reference to Anaconda receiving its fair share of 10s. An opinion can't be wrong so you're right, I'm just saying the scores are a bit of a mess so far and most of the 10 scores are hardly justified in the review. "She slayed" 10/10 "It's a bop" 10/10 "She mentioned the elevator incident" 10/10

Woo, lord, Pixie can't make a good album to save her life. This album is definitely more cohesive than her other albums, but... Let me tug a bit in my review for this album.

Pixie's album has great songs on it. It's just not cohesive at all.

I actually think it is.
The sounds all blend well together and are in the same throwback vein. There are a lot of hits and misses, but the album flows well to me despite that. One of my main problems is that it feels like Pixie has no personality and none of the tracks make me feel like the album really deserved to be self-titled.
