The thing is, the song will probably go on sale earlier. I remember Born This Way came out on February 11 and its adds date was on Feb 18 (not 100% positive tho). And well "We found love" doesn't associate with Rihanna, at least not yet. People might have thought it's a random TT.
Rihanna's team usually premieres the song on a radio and after some airplay they release the first single to iTunes.

Recently Calvin Harris spoke about that song (and a few others) ripping off a melody he had used previously (specifically the opening synths), but he had nothing to do with the track.
Def Jam always delayed the digital release dates to after the radio premiere but I think this time will be different. Just a year ago when OG premiered, the repression was still fairly common in small amounts (2-3 weeks). Everyone does immediate releases now that Britney, GaGa & Beyoncé all did that with their first singles this year. I can't think of anyone in 2010 who did immediate releases like 2011.
