Tbh, I don't even give a **** about fairy types outside Garde and Florges, but the typing is good in competitive. Also, mega evo was introduced in Gen VI which gave even more life to the competitive scene as well as the 3D graphics and one of the most flawless, since Suicine, Xerneas.
We're not going to pretend that gen 6 served us the "Quality not quantity" thing when neither were served.
