Michael Musto, one of the most famous gay columnists ever and one who has covered gay culture at a time when it wasn't fashionable to do so, has received all types of threats and vile comments from Lady Gaga's band of "little Monsters" over the past couple days. San Diego's Z90.3 called the harassment "despicable" and asked Lady Gaga to speak out about it.

Michael Musto wrote an article a couple days back on how Lady Gaga is bullying a certain company to take away the name "Gaga" from their trademark. Suddenly, many of Lady Gaga's biggest fans took to Twitter and Facebook to hurl insults (including anti-gay names) at Mr. Musto. Some of those insults are too vile to print here. Then, they ganged up against Mr. Musto in the discussion space after the article.

Lady Gaga fans have been known to attack people who they perceive as a threat to their "Mother Monster." Earlier this year, a blog titled Monsters Against Madonna, where racist comments were made about Madonna's adopted kids, caused many people to wonder if Lady Gaga's positive message was really getting through to her fans. The site also paid people to write negative comments about Madonna at different blogs. After many complaints, the blog was taken down. Lady Gaga, who was made aware of the blog, didn't say a thing.

Some monsters stay doing the most. And yes I do think her message is getting through to her fans. But I think the portrayal of her fans being only twitter monsters needs to stop. A lot of them are trolls and have been very hateful towards artist since before Gaga came along. (the hybrid ones)

I don't wanna defend crazy monsters, but I also don't wanna say that "Little Monsters" are bad, Beliebers are not bad either. It's a fanbase name, I represent the indiviual in me. I'm proud to call myself a little monster, but these guys need to cut it out and really get it together. They forget they're representing Gaga, a woman who's against that Although they will continue to act that way because they feel that they're here for her music, and that they are who they are anyway

But a thread devoted to this would be bad. Everyone'd just drag the fanbase as a whole, even though they don't really realize that not all of us are like that. So I thought it best to keep it in here. If any of you think it's worth it to get us all dragged, then

Exactly! I'd go on to say that many of her fans in real life or even those doing the cyber bullying are not like that in real life. I think Gaga has spoken about Cyber bullying as well, but she said that it's blown up a lot bigger than it should be.
