Oh okay. I was seriously having a "WTF" moment back then. It is your opinion regardless so

I wasn't implying that at all.

You brought up Mariah's discography being bland (which in comparison to the people that you brought up - it absolutely is) and I countered that by bringing up what you said about Whitney's discography a while back. I found it funny that you would say Mariah's discography was bland when you were praising Whitney's material back then. That was my only reason for bringing it up, noting more, nothing less.
I stan for those people + Whitney and Mariah so it's all fine.

 Oh I agree with that.

TVR & ROL are one the kind. All three of the albums mentioned here are my favorites from all three artists.

I don't think it has anything to do with being a great vocalist if that were the case the ladies I named and the gentleman I didn't wouldn't be acclaimed for their great music to my ears. |

I wouldn't group Kate Bush, Sade, and Tina Turner with Whitney, Aretha, etc type of vocalists although I think their music is impeccable. The rest are amazing vocalists but I don't feel that their materials compare to Janet/Madonna's. Besides Sade and Kate Bush, I doubt you would be able to find heavy material that deals with sexuality, racism, religion, sexism, etc the way Madonna and Janet have done (which was the point that I was trying to make).
Vocalists traditionally focus on material that shows off their assets AKA their voices. Where does the deep material (about racism, sexism, religion, etc) fit in? They typically go for the cheesy music with booming vocals a la Hero, My Heart Will Go On, I Will Always Love You, etc. I'm not saying that all their material is like that but it tends to lean that way instead of a creative direction.

I wasn't trying to shade you. I like Beyonce and I'm warming up to her more and more. I listen to her music a lot, it's just the BeyHive that I can't stand. I think she needs to continue with the same direction as
4, however, I see her coming back with IASF type of material which was utter ****.

OMG. You should make a thread about that.
