I think the catchiest part of the song is the "Princess Die...I wanna see her cry. Princess DIe-eyeeeeeee. Princess Die...We wanna watch her cry. Princess Die-eyeeeeeee." It's flows so naturally when she sings "I'll be a Princess Die and die with you" and then goes into this part of the song ("Princess Die....I wanna see her cry..."). She only sang this part once throughout the whole song, so I'm hoping it's sung at least 2-3 times in the studio version.
Do you guys think she actually sang the whole song? Towards the end the "I wish that I was..." gets a bit repetitive, perhaps there's meant to be another "Princess Die...I wanna see her cry" part?
I love the last line so much.
"The final act of life will be in my own hands to do. I'll be a Princess Die and die with you."

I agree about "Princess Die...I wanna see her cry" part. However, maybe it will be like the "Dont you try to catch me" in Americano while catchy and could be repeated more like a post-chorus. Maybe she will only do it once. She said she'd only play a little bit of it but I'm sure it was roughly the same thing. There may be a few more lines or the song structure may be altered a little but overall I think this is the total package in regards to the song.
Ya'll may not like Elton, but Princess Diana was loved by Americans. Candle In The Wind was a really special song, there's a reason it's the most successful single of all time. Slapping an Elton duet on this would literally change the entire landscape of it.It could go from being a criticized flop to an acclaimed, Grammy-award winning song. Just because of him. Americans love nostalgia.
Even 50 year old men would bop to this song if Elton was on it. It gives it an entirely different meaning.
Well what else is there to hate about it? You don't know what the production is like and the chords and melodies are very simplistic, as most ballads are.
