In 2003, I found a copy of "Heartbreaker" in one of my friends bedroom.
I listened to it and I immediately fell in love with her voice, I was amazed by all the riffs/runs and whistles...
So I became obsessed with her, I went to a music store weeks later and I bought Charmbracelet and the Glitter dvd. And the rest is history...

I knew of her cause she had hits and was a legend. I liked We Belong Together, Shake It Off, Touch My Body, and Obsessed when they were on the radio. I also liked Say Somethin' when I heard it on MTV one night, and I somehow heard about Breakdown and had it on my iTunes. Oh, and TeenNick (the channel Nick is Chairman on) used to play "Oh Santa!" ALL THE TIME in this one commercial when it was new. I also remember bopping to Always Be My Baby for a week a year before I was a Lamb, and I also saw the "Heartbreaker" video on MTV and listened to it a few times and ofcourse -- liked AIWFCIY. Idk why it took me so long to finally realize I'd like her.
But then one night some guy I knew who was a stan told me to listen to Butterfly, so I did and the rest is history. I had Spotify so I just spent weeks listening to her stuff randomly.

Late 2002, I was 7 years old and one day after school me and my dad were in the music setion in a store and I didn't really know much about Mariah (except vaguely knowing a few of her bigger hits) and I spotted the Mariah Carey: Greatest Hits CD because it looked gorgeous, and my dad purchased it for me as a JOKE (he must've thought it was gay to like Mariah ). Then when I got home and listened to it I just felt so blessed and fell in love with her. I remember it was after hearing Always Be My Baby that I knew. I just knew.
Ugggggh I hate not having access to those kinds of shows. Why is everything Mariah-related in the US

I wasn't even aware. I love Beyoncé, too. Both of them will are going to release new albums next year.

I was aware that Mariah Carey exists but in 2002 I actually recognized ha for the first time really.
I saw Through The Rain on the MTV, got Charmbracelet for Christmas, and became an instant stan.
I've been stanning for eleven years now!
