I'm from Idaho. So we're very republican to begin with. It didn't help that my government teacher was a Mormon Republican who always slanted lessons to side with the Republican point of view. I was an impressionable junior and I kinda took his word for it.
I started watching Fox News and Glenn Beck's charisma was just...off the charts... At one point, when the Egypt riots were happening, he mentioned how it would also happen in the US and instructed us to start preparing shelters. I would argue with my parents on why they hadn't started stocking up on canned foods and they were always dimissing me. I was so angry.
In my defense, anyone could get caught up in the sensationalism that goes on there.
True. One thing I think many whites still don't understand is the rough transitions blacks are still going through. Imo, there has been 4 major transitions in black American history.
1) We started out as unevolved humans and were TOLD we weren't allowed to achieve anything.
2) We were acknowledged as 3/5 of a person and were TOLD we couldn't achieve anything even if we tried.
3) We were then treated as lesser forms of the ideal human and TOLD we could only achieve half of what every else could.
4) Now we're seen as stereotypes and negative statistics and are being ASKED why it's hard for us to achieve anything...
We just haven't had room to breathe and develop outside the magnifying class of white America. At every stage of our development as a people, we've been met with intense criticism.
I think its only in education that there can be real change but how can this happen in America when education in minority areas is so poor. Countries like Zimbabwe are able to have true independence and growth because education is very valued. There are so many sanctions against them but they can prosper even without help from the west. I don't know how African Americans can achieve that since everything is controlled by white people. Education, jobs etc...
Rush is a bad person but we are all bad people here, we've all said horribly disgusting things to popstars and members we've never met who've done nothing to us so I'm in no position to complain about him.

The reason why a majority of people hate Hitler is because the media told them to:

Hitler offered a peace treaty to Franklin D. Roosevelt, but he refused:

Hitler never wanted a worldwide genocide:

It's just interesting to me because I'm Canadian (from Vancouver) and our history/government classes were always so pro-liberal and at the time I just assumed everyone thought that way and that everyone was liberal.

Eh. I feel like everyone here is a fake conservative at times. It's hard to actually follow through with conservative ideals because they're so outdated. A lot of those ideals are just not applicable in real life situations today.
The only use I see for conservatives is their role in pacing change to an acceptable rate. As annoying as their arguments for...basically everything...are, they make us think and rethink our reasons for moving forward with some major change.

Its actually ironic - the most developed African countries are the ones that have greater ''white presence'' like South Africa
...and the Arab-north - Libya, Egypt etc (which have of course imploded bc Arabs + democracy don't mix).
