Quite honestly, we really need to wait to see what Born This Way really is about as a journey. Of course it will get plenty of backlash ~ she has targeted it as the best album of our decade, which it clearly won't be, it will be a decent pop record with a meaning for her!
Also, even if it was the best album of our decade, backlash would still be there ~ quick judgment from britney/beyonce/christina fans and generally a really quick judgment.
I think this album is going to be a grower that can seriously be overplayed soon.
