I excluded "If" because it contains a sample and I don't think it's superior to TTWLG. "Let's Wait Awhile" is pretty but too juvenile to be considered one of her more timeless singles. "Twenty Foreplay" is one of her best songs but it didn't make a lasting impact as a single, therefore I didn't consider it.
I agree #'s 1 and 3 though are among her very best singles.

Together Again, Rhythm Nation and Someone to Call My Lover all contain samples.
I will never tire of "Let's Wait Awhile." It epitomizes early Janet, to me. It contains all of her 20-year-old innocence and her youthful beauty. The video too.
I based my list on how much I liked the songs, not on their merits as singles or their impact, to be honest. Since it didn't really say "best" singles, and I know my list isn't one of her critical "best." I like your list though, obviously.
