Let's get started....

First up....

Puka Puka

1. TheSeenScene - Eve & Gwen Stefani - Let Me Blow Ya Mind

Dillon - 10 - I remember this song. It smashed and was #95 on the Decade End Billboard Chart. It brought together a Pop Artist and a Rapper slightly similar to the example so this a very nice way to start off your journey here Scene. Impressed.

Ray Bass: 10. “This was the first entry I ever judged on this season, and I was pretty sure this was my perfect score. Eve & Gwen crafted back in 2001 a crossover hit for both Urban and Pop audiences, that embodied Eve’s clever rap lyricism with Gwen’s soothing vocals on the hook. The perfect rap-pop combination, excellent job TSS!”

Alexz - Cute grammy award song, not my cup of tea but it fits this round. - 6.5

Anna - 4 - I've always liked this song, the beat is cool and Eve and Gwen are a good match. however, Gwen is only doing the chorus and even there, I don't think her voice sticks out much, so it's not very equal.

2. MWB - Taylor Swift & Ed Sheeran - Everything Has Changed

Dillon - 6 - I'm not a fan of Red but I listened to see if there were any standouts. This wasn't one of them I did see that they both sung about an equal amount though. Not bad. Not good though. Better luck next time.

Ray Bass: 7. “I’ve been listening to Red since its release, and to be honest I had high expectations from this duet since The A Team by Sheeran is one of my tracks of the year, but this song is not even one of the standout tracks of the record, so I was let down. You could’ve sent a much better duet rather than go with a recently released one. I’m sure you’ll do better next time though.”

Alexz - Your song is probably one of the most recent song out of all the entries, a very safe choice imo, I like it tho. - 6

Anna - 8 - such a dreamy tune. I like how it's kinda lo-fi, it sounds as if they were just jamming together for fun and that makes this duet really charming and authentic. it's nice how much they sing together, but I still wish Ed's solo part was longer.

3. AdamAL4 - Jason Aldean & Kelly Clarkson - Don't You Wanna Stay

DillonATRL - 8 - It is the best selling country collaboration in digital history. Basically allowed Kelly to crossover which she failed to do with Because of You. Nice choice Adam. It's a bit cheesy but it works in this case.

Ray Bass: 9. “I’m pretty sure the panel is gonna bash you for sending a country song, but you couldn’t had sent a better duet! Their CMA performance was amazing, and Kelly truly showed with this song she’d have a career on Country music if she wanted do.”

Alexz - Seems like you do want to stay in the competition, great job. - 7

Anna - 6 - this is okay. it's a duet, their voices sound nice together, but the song itself is pretty cheesy/bland when you look at the lyrics. there's nothing special about it that caught my interest.

4. BlazingLovatic - Beyonce & Shakira - Beautiful Liar

Dillon - 9.5 - Look what we have here. Everything about this collab was great. The video made the song 10x better with them swinging their hips. I really like ths entry and it reminds me of The Boy is Mine which was huge as well. Very nice choice of duet.

Ray Bass: 9.5. “Iconic. You could feel the chemistry between both on the video when they were both belly dancing. Nicely done.”

Alexz - I like the song, but the way Beyoncé impersonates Shakira in the video is just...sad. overall a good song - 6.5

Anna - 8 - this is pretty great. they are both involved in the song as they take turns and their parts flow into each other, the lyrics talk about "we", and the music reflects their different musical backgrounds and unites them well. nice job.

5. Jolie's Lips - Mariah Carey & Whitney Houston - When You Believe

Dillon - 8 - Don't get me wrong. Everyone loves Mariah and Whitney their voices are perfection. I just think the imspiration sounds so forced from both of them. For what could have been an amazing moment in music hisotry resulted in this underwhelming collab.

Ray Bass: 10. “When two powerful strong-voiced divas collide on a duet, there’s absolutely nothing that could go wrong. Mariah and Whitney are voices that will never be duplicated, and this song embodies what this round was all about. Flawless entry.”

Alexz - Get 'Em Get 'Em Get 'Em, decent scores that is, Jolie's Vaginal Lips. A boring generic inspirational song, the only good thing about this song is their vocals, still better than some of the other submitted songs. - 7

Anna - 6.5 - I don't know, the song itself doesn't really look like a duet to me, more like it was written for one person and then they randomly divided the parts between Mariah & Whitney. they do sing some parts together, though, and they sound flawless doing it.

6. SIMon1120 - Nelly & Kelly Rowland - Dilemma

Dillon - 9.5 - So glad you changed from WMN to this Simon. Dilemma is the 11th most successful song of that decade of BBH100 hits. This song was HUGE and remains Nelly's most successful song of his career and kelly's most successful solo work. Starting of strong I see.

Ray Bass: 9.5 “Whenever I think of great songs from the early 2000’s, Dilemma always comes to my mind. I’ve got no words to explain the chemistry between Nelly & Kelly. Truly an excellent duet.”

Alexz - Another Grammy award song. I remember hearing this song a lot when I was younger. Overall a great choice, I like the fact you didn't go the safe route and instead you picked an R&B song. - 7

Anna - 6 - ah, this song is so cute, I loved it when I was younger. the structure is predictable, the guy rapping the verses and the girl just singing the chorus. at least there's some interaction between them when she addresses him, and you can also feel that there's a certain chemistry going on between Nelly & Kelly.

7. xAyana - Nicki Minaj & Rihanna - Fly

Dillon - 8 - One of the standouts on Pink Friday. Rihanna's vocals sound so much better when she's not trying to sound powerful. Nicki actually did a good job fo making an inspirational song. Not sure how many will remember this collab though so that's the only problem.

Ray Bass: 8. “You know I love Nicki, and Fly is one of my sentimental tracks of Pink Friday, but to be honest with you, I feel like Rihanna’s presence in the song is solely used for her name and stage presence, because Nicki could’ve easily sung Rihanna’s hook. I believe there were plenty of ways they could’ve used Rihanna.”

Alexz - Nicki Minaj song? Talk about asslicking...not you trying to be Ray FatAss's pet, you are here to conquer us all, not just the irrelevant judge. Anyway, not impressed by this song at all, cheap beat and basic lyrics, but it fits this this round's theme so.. - 6.5

Anna - 5 - I like the music and lyrics of this song and the way they both sound, Rihanna's voice is so soothing here. I do think she brings something unique to this song, I can't imagine anyone else on it instead of her. nevertheless, their parts are too clearly separated for me to be a proper duet.

8. Middle of Selena - P!nk & Nate Ruess - Just Give Me A Reason

Dillon - 9 - One of many standouts on her newest album. That says something as the whole album really is great. One of the best of the year. I didn't expect a song with the lead singer Fun. (who i'm not a fan of) to turn out so well. The song flows nicely with both of their vocals. Very nice choice!

Ray Bass: 8.5. “The only reason why I can’t give this a higher note, even though it is a great example of a duet, is because I find Nate’s voice too awkward for a duet. I mean, Fun. itself is great, but Nate should stick to making music with his band, and not duets. Great entry though.”

Alexz - Not impressed, P!nk can do better than this, overused beat and cheesy lyrics, I kinda know why she recorded this fun. reject tho... - 6.5

Anna - 9 - what a beautiful song. you can tell that Nate was not only called to sing on this but also co-wrote it because his style is (almost a bit too) clearly audible. I love the song's structure; his verse is the response to hers and then they sing together, like an actual conversation between two people. amazing choice.

Salani

1. Hugamari - PSY & Hyuna - 오빤 딱 내 스타일

Dillon - 4 - This is one of the worst songs ever made and I didn't even know there was a remix. Adding Hyuna isn't helping at all. I think You're My Only Shorty would have gotten a better score tbh. Not good Hugamari. Not good.

Ray Bass: 6. “You sent probably the riskiest choice by sending a non-English speaking song, and sometimes risk takers are rewarded, but this is not one of these times. I heard the song to give it a fair judgement, but to be honest PSY’s presence completely overshadows the other girl, even though Hyuna has the hook and more parts on the soic. And her voice I reall something I can’t deal with because she sounds like an animated cartoon squirrel or Pikachu or something. Besides, I don’t believe PSY is meant for duets anyways.”

Alexz - Sus, why? Why would you submit this song? I can't even understand a word of what they are saying! I literally SCREAMED when the girl started "singing" with his helium balloon voice, you can do better than this! 5.5

Anna - 3 - I'm just confused by this. I love Gangnam Style, it's fun and all, but it's not a duet, so I don't get why they re-released it as one. the additional female vocals are not needed, they add nothing to the song. I appreciate you going for something different and sending in K-pop but I'm sure there would have been better choices from that genre.

2. Energy - Nicki Minaj & Eminem - Roman's Revenge

Dillon - 9 - Nicki at her hardest. This is what a rap collab should be. Em and Nicki going back and forth makes for an excellet rap duet. I always wonder why this type of material wasn't on Roman Reloaded. Anyway, nice way to start off your time here!

Ray Bass: 9.5. “Back to back hardcore spitting on an angry rap beat. This is the true definition of what a rap duet must sound. Excellent.”

Alexz - Not this song again I'm not a big fan of rappers, but I gotta admit this song is good, they both deliver. - 6.5

Anna - 4 - this is proof that having two artists on a song doesn't automatically make it a duet. I see no connection between their parts, except that they're both referencing their alter-egos.

3. iLukey - John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John - You're the One That I Want

Dillon - 10 - It's electrifying! Grease is so cheeseball but it works. The best part is that they need eachother on the track sinc ethey are going back and forth to eachother the entire time. Great choice! Keep it up.

Ray Bass: 10. “Probably one of the best duets of all-time, I’m so shocked at seeing this at the entry list, I didn’t even hesitate on giving this a perfect score.”

Alexz - Excellent duet between these two - 7.5

Anna - 10 - the perfect duet. it was written for two people, they interact with each other, reference one another's lines and then sing together. it's a simple song but it fits the theme 100%.

4. Adr - Brandy & Monica - The Boy is Mine

Dillon - 10 - Glad somebody chose this! These girls are going back and forth fighting for their man the entire time! A true duet. You submitted really fast but it sure was a nice entry. Starting off with a 10

Ray Bass: 10. “Salani is slaying!!! Adrian, you and I well know The Boy is Mine is a ballad for the decades. R&B at its best. Lyrics at their best. Brandy and Monica at their best. I’m so glad you sent in this song. Congratulations, perfect score for you!!”

Alexz - First time hearing this Grammy award song, I'm impressed, great duet. - 6.5

Anna - 10 - yes! this is a great choice because it would not work if sung by only one person. it's the two of them fighting over a boy, in the form of a song! it's so brilliantly written, they have the verses where each of them sings alone in her perspective but then in the chorus they sing together, because it could be seen from either one's POV. perfect!

5. Stevie - Drake & Rihanna - Take Care

Dillon - 9.5 - I was surprised this was not chosen tbh. It's still played on my local radio stations alot. It's mellow but enough to keep us interrested still. Nice last minute choice Stevie.

Ray Bass: 9. "Nice late entry Stevie. Truly another great example of an amazing collaboration."

Alexz - Welcome to Survivor, Stevie! This song is amazing, the instrumental is so dope, plus they both deliver, one of my favorite Rihanna collabs. - 6.5

Anna - ? - You will not be given a rate from Anna this time around since she lives in Germany. It will not be used against you.

6. nezlaos - Rihanna & Ne-Yo - Hate That I Love You

Dillon - 8 - This song is so adorable. It just gets you. It was preditable but I feel that for this round staying safe isn't a bad idea at all. Something about the track is so smooth. It's actually a duet so you chose the right Rihanna track for the round. Only thing is it's not memorable. Overall, good choice.

Ray Bass: 9. “Very predictable duet. Not saying it isn’t a good one though, but a safe choice. Rihanna and Ne-Yo have great chemistry though, and the lyrics break me everytime.”

Alexz - Meh, it's cute but nothing groundbreaking, your typical love song, Riri has better duets. - 6

Anna - 8.5 - what a smooth song. their voices harmonize so well, it's like honey to my ears. there's a great sense of togetherness, too, you could believe they're really a couple. the song itself is a little too generic and safe for my taste, though.

7. johnrm - James Morrison & Nelly Furtado - Broken Strings

Dillon - 7.5 - I've never heard this one before! Nelly's voice jsut really annoys me unless it's a song from the Loose era. I like the lyrics and overall it's a cute duet so this is pretty nice i guess.

Ray Bass: 9. “I’ve heard this song a whole lot since for some reason my AC radio station played it like crazy back in 2008. It was critically acclaimed so there’s no wrong in there. Their vocals actually really go good together”

Alexz - I'm actually really impressed by this, the lyrics are great! Good job. - 7

Anna - 7 - another love song that makes a great duet, there's emotion and they make the lyrics believable. there's something that bothers me about Nelly's voice, though. this is not her strongest performance.

8. Outlaw - Stevie Nicks & Tom Petty - Stop Draggin' My Heart Around

Dillon - 8.5 - This was her first song omg! Not a fan of this type of music since it's not even close to my existence on earth. But to answer your question, yes we do like classics.

Ray Bass: 9.5. “I’m giving you a nearly-perfect score because this is the example of a rock duet from the 80’s, but I personally dislike the song because my dad overplayed this a whole lot that made me grew tired of it. Stevie Nicks really dragged has dragged his heart around since like 1976. Anyways, nicely done Outlaw.”

Alexz - The title the irony of it all, anyway hottie, very good choice, surprised that you came with this song, Congrats. - 7.5

Anna - 6.5 - you definitely didn't take the safe route which is cool. I like the vibe, but I feel like the song lacks something between the two singers, a spark. it's like they're moving around each other but don't quite connect, maybe 'cause Tom is only in the bridge and chorus.

Fei Long

1. DripDrip - Usher & Alicia Keys - My Boo

Dillon - 9 - Usher when he was R&B. It's a great little duet between the two and Alicia is perfect for collabs as we saw once again with Empire State of Mind. Very good.

Ray Bass: 10. “As with the Brandy & Monica duet in the 90’s decade, this is probably the best duet from the past decade. Two R&B forces, male and female, join to make this surefire hit. Amazing entry DD, I’m happy you sent this.”

Alexz- Ok boo, I feel this song not the strongest entry but still a good, you need to step up your game, come on! - 6.5

Anna - 8 - aww, this song. they're just singing to each other, reminiscing and it's so sweet. I like how they both have their own chorus, from their own perspective, that makes the song a bit more interesting because it's a bit repetitive otherwise.

2. iggie45 - Britney Spears & Madonna - Me Against the Music

Dillon - 8 - You being a Britney stan and releasing this kinda makes it too safe tbh. It's obvious it's a duet since they are directly speaking to eachother in the beginning. My only issue is it's not even in my Top 5 of ITZ and it's a duet between two legends. I'm still a fan of the song and video though.

Ray Bass: 7.5 “WAAAAAAAAAAAAY TOOOO PREDICTABLE. Probably the safest choice we’ll see in Season 2. Yes, it works, but this is as safe as sending Telephone by Gaga & Beyonce. Anyways, I’m deducting score because even though it’s a nice duet, Toxic completely overshadowed MATM back in the day, and it was the second single released.”

Alexz - This song is so cool, awesome, very fun. - 6.5

Anna - 7 - I like how the intro already has them talking to each other, it's clear from the beginning that this is a duet. Madonna has her own part but they also trade lines during the chorus so it's not too one-sided. it works for this round.

3. Jack. - Cher & Sonny - A Cowboy's Work Is Never Done

Dillon - 8 - Not their best song. It's obviously a duet since they were a duo. I'm just not feeling the song. But you stayed with the task so decent job this round Jack.

Ray Bass: 8.5. “If you were sending a Cher & Sonny song, you could’ve sent I Got You Babe, Jack. Anyways, this truly represents a good duet, and the band that always played live along with them makes me want to give you a good score.”

*cher's voice* Your survivor entry is boredom. Wtf is this? You can do better than this, Jack. I know it...it fits this round's theme tho. - 6

Anna - 6 - this seemed like a safe choice since they're a duo but considering that, I'm actually a bit underwhelmed. most of the time it's Cher singing and Sonny only has one single line for himself, plus the chorus, which seems to be from his perspective, is sung by both.

4. nills - Tony Bennett & Lady Gaga - The Lady Is A Tramp

Dillon - 9.5 - He has like 5 duets albums. But this shows a different side of GaGa! It's a nice little jazzy collabo between the two. Keep it up nills!

Ray Bass: 8. “Great jazzy song, but that’s about it. Song never really made anything more than that, and Tony Bennett has much more duets, and way better than this one.”

Alexz - She's a tramp and she knows it! a different side of Gaga, overall a good song. - 6.5

Anna - 9 - the song already is quite perfect itself. I love the conversational character, their parts not being strictly divided but intertwined, and the funny aspect makes it amusing to listen to. I admit GaGa & Tony Bennett seemed like an odd pair at first glance, but they did this song justice.

5. SyntaxError - He is We & Owl City - All About Us

Dillon - 9 - I'm really feeling the song! So cute! However, He Is We is a duo to begin with which makes it not really a duet even though there is only two people singing. I let that slide though since every artist has a band and that doesn't make their collabs not duets. Anyway, thanks for giving us this song Syntax.

Ray Bass: 8. “Syntax Error, you place me in a dilemma. Many might not know, but I love Rachel Taylor (vocalist for He is We), and All About Us is an INDIE-POP masterpiece, but I can’t hand you in a perfect score because He is We itself is a duet, and them having Owl City featured makes this not a duet at all. I can’t believe you sent this flawless song, but sadly I can’t give it a perfect score as much as I would like to, hope you understand Syntax.”

Alexz - Cute song, I wonder how many duets has Owl City recorded. - 6.5

Anna - 10 - I've never heard this song before but I'm completely amazed! it has a nice dynamic, the music compliments the lyrics very well and the way they both sing this like two shy lovers is very endearing. I can picture the situation in my head perfectly. great choice!

6. collin - Gwen Stefani & Akon - The Sweet Escape

Dillon - 5 - Let me just say I LOVE this song and Gwen in general. But I heard two lines from Akon and I really don't count "woohooooooo" as him singing. He could have actually gone uncredited on this one. The post said to make sure each artist sang about equally. Really underwhelming this round collin.

Ray Bass: 7 “Not truly a duet when Akon all he really does is scream woohoooo yeaahooo and do the outro. Song is amazing though, but it really doesn’t feel like a duet as Akon could even go uncredited on this one.”

Alexz - This not a duet, more like a feature, Akon only contributes with background vocals, her wheezy "Whoohoo's" and 2 lines. - 5

Anna - 2 - woo hoo, yee hoo! this song is fun - but wait, where is Akon?! this could have been such a great duet since it's about Gwen apologizing to her guy, she even asks him a question, but sadly it remains rhetorical. there's no reply because he's stuck doing background vocals. that's not your fault, of course, but choosing this song definitely is. only not a 1 because he does sing a tiny part.

7. ImARudeBoy - Michael Jackson & Paul McCartney - Say, Say, Say

Dillon - 8 - THE GIRL IS MINE >>> But this is solid little 80's collaboration. Nothing special. I didn't even know it existed until you sent it in. Step it up a bit next round.

Ray Bass: 9. “Why didn’t you sent The Girl is Mine? That’s the actual duet that matters from them! Anyways, Say Say Say is amazing, and both MJ and Sir Paul McCarney have always done everything they do in a flawless manner.

Alexz - Now, this is how you do it, Survivors. Two icons on a great song. - 8

Anna - 8 - this is a good mix of their signature sounds and their roles throughout the song also seem to be quite equal. it's a typical 80s track, though, nothing too extraordinary, solid but nothing more.

8. MusicLoverDude - Jessica Simpson & Nick Lachey - Where You Are

Dillon - 7 - MLD you are so Disney Jessica is underrated imo. Some of her solo work is actually really solid. Overall, Nick ruins this one for me. It's a passionate duet between the two but isn't memorable at all. Average this round.

Ray Bass: 7. “Yes it’s passionate, and I know they were together a lot of time, but this duet falls flat for me, it really sounds boring at times, specially on the hook”

Alexz - Cheesiness at its best. Your typical Successica Legendson ballad, but I like it. - 6.5

Anna - 6.5 - it fulfills the formal criteria of a duet but there's nothing exciting about it to me. I wish there were clear perspectives for each of their parts, that they weren't so interchangeable, it would make the song a bit more unique. also a bit too dramatic for my liking.
