She still acts the same now as she did on the show, a little more out there but she's still pretty to herself but knows how to have fun, release good singles, and sing amazing. Lauren actually reminds me of a mini Carrie this season.

I think Lauren has WAY more personality than Carrie ever had. From the "Peaches" thing to the whole cute, ditsy southern schtick, she reminds me more of a Kellie Pickler than a Carrie Underwood. And I don't know if I agree what you when you say that Carrie was a livelier performer. I mean, yeah, she moved around a bit more and stuff but I don't think she engaged the audience the way the judges are harping on Pia to. She was just one of the best vocalists her season but I would argue that, in general, the songs that she sang weren't as difficult as the ones Pia has performed already this season (with the exception being Making Love Out of Nothing At All and perhaps Alone). I think that when Pia finally does an uptempo song, you'll see a lot of similarities between the way that Carrie and Pia perform.
And I'm not shading on Carrie. I LOVE Carrie, I'm just saying that when you have a voice like Pia does, who cares about her performance? Stand at the microphone and let 'er rip, I say! All I have to do when she sings is close my eyes and I get goosebumps whenever she hits those amazing high notes.

I think Lauren does not have the charm that Carrie has. And when Carrie sang, audiences can connect to her. So far Lauren has been singing song like answering a test.

I think audiences were more astonished with Carrie's ability to hold a note for 10000000000 seconds. Frankly, I don't think contestants this young with such limited exposure to large audiences and life experiences are going to be able to "emotionally connect" with the audience the way they will in five or six years. It's why the performances by the returning alums and current recording artists are usually a lot better than the contestants IMO. They just have a certain seasoned quality that separates them from the finalists.

I know your not shading Carrie, we're just stating opinions here on what we've said.
Without a doubt I will agree Lauren has more personality than what Carrie gave during her season and agree she is like Kellie Pickler with the stuff she says. To me, I saw Carrie always engaging with the audience. Maybe not from the beginning cause it was newer to her with the big stage but she comfortable like what will more than likely happen to Pia. I'm not doubting Pia is a great singer because she is but I don't think Carrie's method was to choose songs that showed off her vocals every week but to give variety and have fun to keep the audience interested.
If Pia keeps singing midtempos and ballads then she's going to end up in the bottom and possibly going home because will become bored. It's the same with a career outside of AI, if you only sing midtempos and ballads but no uptempos people are going to get bored easily and not listen to you. To me I think that's what happened to David Archuleta, he was undeniably talented but his vocals on certain songs only got him so far.
Now Pia does have some before AI tracks around, I think Chico posted them, and some of the titles look like uptempos which is good. I do hope she can break out and do uptempos and have fun, not relying on her vocals to slide her by each week.

Agreed 100%
It takes time to strength your presence in front of an audience, but you still need to have that spark and sparkle for them to notice and remember you off the bat

Yeah i am not blaming Lauren for not having that quality. I'm just saying the fact that she does not have it. Lauren is more like a Kellie Pickler to me, but her voice is of course, stronger. Personality can be understood by displaying it, but also by feeling it as well.
I think Carrie has this country gal personality, very genuine, very real that audiences can connect with her, more than her ability to hold a note (how many performances did she use that technique during her time? 3?)

No, everyone in this Top 11 will go on tour as Ryan said on the show !
I think the judges just made a wrong decision to save Casey while it's not even Top 10 Finalists yet

I agree. I think most of them have that certain something, they (Pia included) just need to learn to access that "X-factor." It's really shocking, but there are only about two contestants this season who were born in 1988 or before. Most of them are under 21 so I guess I just don't expect them to be these amazing performers yet. Maybe by the end of the season, but not now.

Casey had the lowest number of scores, but the judges decided to use their one save of the season to keep him around for one more week.

See, I don't think Pia needs more personality to be memorable. People remember her because of her voice. When she sang I'll Stand By You and killed it, all she had to do was stand there and sing. I don't think you need as much stage presence when you can sing like she can.
