Is it Justified?
An Eye for an Eye?

If it were possible to prove someone's guilt without any form of doubt I would agree with this. I think some people are too much of a danger to society to remain alive never mind among us. Someone who rapes kids and then murders them does not deserve to live whether it is in a 2x4 cell or not.
But in reality it is incredibly difficult and often impossible to prove guilt with no doubt, in certain circumstances I agree with it. Some monsters don't deserve to breathe.
Why do you have to put this up when it's so late here.
The Death Penalty is:
- not a deterrent
- not causing a lower crime rate
- not humane
- not cheaper
I personally discussed this with Rick Halperin, a UN ambassador and chairman of Amnesty International USA, and History professor, who has witnessed multiple executions - he's from Texas so...he knows what it's like.

While I agree that some people DO NOT deserve to live AT ALL, I can't agree with this barbaric thing. It is not our duty to take away a human life. Since there is physically no way to 100% prove someone is guilty of something, I can't support this. Anyways, capital punishment costs the government, well at least the US government, more money than if we were to keep that hostile in jail for life. So I morally and economically do not agree

There are ways to prove guilt beyond a doubt.
If someone is caught doing the deed on camera and it's backed up by a witness account and DNA. Who is to argue that?
The death penalty is never justified. It's barbaric and the sign of a hugely un-civilized society.

The fact that a murderer would smile after being sentenced proves it doesn't solve anything. A quick death is nothing more than a freebie for a lot of murderers because they feel it's the easiest way out.

I am against this. Firstly I think life imprisonment is the perfect punishment for murder because killing the murderer does not bring back the victim. The pain will remain. The death penalty is not a punishment it is compensation for the victims family. Also it's also a contradiction. How can you tell people they cannot murder anyone, but you turn around and do the same exact thing. It is unethical. The government has no more right to murder someone than someone off the street.

Well what if that person is framed by another. And while the DNA could match, most DNA samples come with a percentage to how much alike are the test subjects and DNA samples are. While it can be a 99.9999 percent match, that 0.0001% factor comes into play, and since it's not a 100% match, I believe that capital punishment should be out of the question
