MY SCORES AND CRITIQUES
Shendelzare - 7.5/10 - Really good. A few things that could have improved it, the blacks/background could have been darker, and the text could have had a vertical gradient (yellow to maybe the orange colour on the virgin sign) to give it a bit more pop.
MasterXPosed - 7/10 - It feels like something Madonna would do for a cover, and I love that advisory sign placement
. I’m just wondering if something more interesting could have been done – perhaps something similar to Dancehall’s entry.
Dom - 7.5/10 - I already critiqued this in PM’s, so there’s nothing further I can add...
Maybe have the background images run along the same line (see how left is straight, and right is on a diagonal – left would have been better on a diagonal as well). Also maybe a drop shadow on the tonight text.
URBAN - 6.5/10 - It looks like you just whipped this up in 5 minutes
. Overall it's okay, I would have liked it if you had played into the pink and green colours more, one of my fave colour schemes tbh. Not too keen on the font choices - but that's understandable given your circumstances. Wish we got to see the original one

Xedretinz Lododnz - 7/10 - I like the colours and the idea, I think the execution is lacking though. To me, the glow is too strong and should have faded out more

It should have been more like this - soft glow with the glow/light reflected onto the background a little
A part from that the top part of the strike should have wrapped around and behind his head/neck.
Also the Tonight text is good, but a different font should have been used for the artist’s name, something more subtle and maybe placed below the Tonight text.
And the lights at the bottom weren’t needed; I think you should have swapped it for an understated lighting effect (see below) to enhance that nightclub/nightlife feel.
Hopefully all that makes sense.
DevonDreams – 7.5/10 - I like it and the Nicki image you chose is really good. The only thing that’s a bit jarring is the banding from the gradient you added in the background. Also the Tonight text doesn’t look centered, but still nicely done.
Hurem - 8/10 - The Lady Gaga image you selected is awesome. The Tonight text could have been a bit larger – and perhaps in a deep red colour would have made it pop more and given the cover a hint more of sexiness. Other than that it looks really good.
Marnie - 7.5/10 - Love the Rihanna picture, but that font choice is just not good at all - a bulkier, solid font would have been much better, and maybe even have the tonight font run vertically down the left side of Rihanna (maybe even have Rihanna’s left side overlapping the title a bit), then make the Rihanna text smaller and move it to the right side of Rihanna’s head - and then move the advisory label to the bottom right corner. Love all the vivid colour though.
Royal Culture - 9.5/10 - Nothing I can really say, LOVE all of this.
ririfan21 - 6.5/10 - I don’t really like it – I think it would have been better in colour with a rich blue for the shadows/background. I also think the Tonight title should have been placed on the moon – with a gradient applied to it that mirrors the light on the moon (darker on left side, lighter on right side), and then move 'Angelina Jolie' text to the bottom left corner. But I know you had a stressful submission process so I understand why it’s not the best it could have been.
Cantaloupe. - 8.5/10 - Very minimalistic and with a classic colour scheme that can’t go wrong. One thing that is a little worrying is that I feel you’re capable of doing much more, and I’m starting to feel you’re not taking many risks. I also would like you to modernise Audrey in some way.
Desire - 7/10 - The colours are nice – but everything could be improved. The hexagon pattern could be more interesting, and the borders should not have been so thick – and the overall pattern should have been reduced to fit onto the cover. Also the font choice isn’t the greatest, something more simple and with fewer colours would have been better.
(Basically what Cantaloupe posted) – Which I’m confident you would have been able to do if you had more time this week.
Dancehall - 9/10 - I love everything about this - the contrast, the image of Zayn, the wall/pattern of text. Nice job.
Kingie - 8.5/10 - I really love this; it's giving me
retro horror film poster vibes
. Only thing I’d change is the Tinashe text could have been smaller, and the Tonight text could have been bigger. Nicely done though.
Skwonderfactory - 6.5/10 - The background is a bit weird – I guess she’s gonna be having sex tonight? Also I think you could have done more with the title font and colours. And there doesn’t seem to be a consistent colour scheme – you should have focused on the colours of Katy (green, blues, purple/pink). I think you should really consider the use of colour schemes in your next entries. The cutting of Katy is good though.
