Just reuse the plastic bags you already have. Or get some bigger, sturdy carrier bags that you can use for your shopping. In the beginning it's kinda annoying to remember to take them but after a while you'll get used to it.
I think it's a good thing, so many people don't realise that plastic is really damaging to the environment and we really need to do something about the amount of bags thoughtlessly wasted.
