The 3rd single, exclusively released outside the US. It was a cute little hit in England, so slay my British sisters. It was actually supposed to be the lead single. Me and jdmc218 agree it should've been the lead.
TBH, this is one of my favorite songs. The production is absolutely flawless, the breathy vocals were flawless and the lyrics were nice too. I was joking earlier when I said it could be a gospel song but lowkey, if she really wanted to, she could make it one.
But until that day comes, we have this BOP. If you didn't know, an Aphrodisiac is a love potion that stimulates attraction. In the song, Brandy calls her lover her Aphrodisiac (spelled Afrodisiac for stylistic reasons/based off the Fela Kuti (Nigerian artist) album).
Bey_Rih says "The Harmonies always do it for me" while supa brings out an interesting point: "I once heard this playing in a Zimbabwean border control office. Brandy her global impact!"
This song is actually pretty popular in Africa. When Brandy performed the song there, the audience knew every single word.... Every time.
Truly a classic
Fun fact about this song, Brandy HATES the video. She feels the song was trying too hard to be sexy and she just felt uncommfortable. The video, to me, isn't that bad but I agree... it does seem forced.
