I feel like they watered down the storyline so that they wouldn't cut the series short. They already got a 4th and probably 5th season so they want to drag it on a little before they run out of ideas.
For me the season finale didnt really feel like a season finale more like a series except of course there are many questions to be answered but i like a good watercooler moment n i dont feel like we got that. There was no tension building up thruout the episode like last season. I thought there'd be a "villain of the season" thing goin on but im glad they didnt go in that direction. Its a waste of talent of 5,6 main characters be one person's bitch. The entire black crew shone as individuals this season.
I'm only a few episodes in (attempting to make it last), but I actually really enjoy this season so far. S2 was good, but it was really frustrating seeing Vee turn her "daughters" against Poussey for the entire season. Now they're back how they should be, and as someone else said, shining with their own individual stories. Plus there has been a distinct lack of Polly so far, which I'm happy with.
But god I hate the theme song to this show so ****ing much. Makes me want to tear my ears off.

Remember that they are stretching Piper's 18 months sentence into several seasons. Every season can't be filled with action and drama. They are just recovering from Vee.
I thought the season was great. Nothing major happened but it was entertaining and funny. It was needed after season 2 and before season 4.
