This is true.

In the end though, fans are loving this album. Which is a contrast to the way fan's reacted when MX was released. A lot of us weren't pleased. The overall feeling right now is of general acceptance of the album

Critics always rush to hate review Coldplay albums then few weeks later they all LOVE it.
And all the critics who bashed MX are now raving about it.
Good thing Coldplayers don't care about reviews, remember Pitchfork gave Parachutes and AROBTTH 5s?

This. Much. Better than the last by a mile and the critics hate them since they became the biggest band in the world in 2006.

The album is really good.

I've always admired Coldplay's music ever since I listened to Clocks. Also, Viva la Vida is one of the most sonically amazing songs I've ever heard.

Any recommendations on their best album that I should first listen to?

Just from start to finish... Parachutes is their best for me but the public prefers AOBTTH which is the second best but both of them are out of this world... it's just less intimate and more Rockish album but perfect also. From their... just flow with them... everything is great great great!

Yeah, from what I've read it seems that the fans consider AOBTTH as their best album.

How about Viva la Vida? Are the rest of the songs in the album on par with the title track sonically?

actually most of the songs on viva la vida are much better than the title track

its basically ARTROCK. and that is not my opinion, its what the general public and most music critics have labeled the Viva la vida album

hell i didnt even know what artrock is, haha

They are different, VIVA is one of their popish song ever but it's a great album... you will find bops. Great album overall, Believe me. MX it the only one that I have complains about and yet again it's still a good album.

Yes the Viva album is amazing. Listen to that and AROBTTH. Both albums are very different but I think you'll love them.

I knew it! Since they have The Black Keys a 5, I knew GS would get a 4 because they love TBK much better.
AROBTTH got a 5.1 and that ended up being Coldplay most acclaimed and successful album ever. This means, GS will snatch AROBTTH's weave soon

The fact that Pitchfork shaded "Ink" and "True Love" for two paragraphs made me dismiss the review entirely. What a worthless piece of ****!!

If Wake Me Up smashed then A Sky Full of Stars should too. Given Coldplay's immense global appeal, it has the potential to be a worldwide hit.

at least they "admitted" that FIX YOU is a classic/timeless song. The review stated that Fix you(which wasnt directly mentioned but if u clock the link, thats the song they are referring to) "HAS STOOD THE TEST OF TIME."

i remember back when X&Y was just released most music critics and some people have dragged Fix You as "whiny" and "uninspired" and that Fix you is unmemorable and it will be forgotten over time. well the critics were absolutely wrong!!!

and yeah, i think its too early for most music critics to say that the songs off ghost stories are UNMEMORABLE AND will be easily forgotten. Time will definitely tell.

the best revenge for Coldplay is for Ghost Stories to be a commercially successful album and for the album to sell millions of albums worldwide

i'm sure those critics who gave it a negative review will fall in disbelief if Ghost Stories went on to sell millions of copies worldwide
