This is a very cute way to put it, but NOPE.

First of all:

Albums - 25
Singles - 1989
Touring - 1989
Awards - let's put them equal
Media presence - definitely equal. I personally heard more about Adele than Taylor, buth both releases were big events, 25 was the bigger event but whatever.

Now

the Albums difference alone is bigger than the Singles and Touring differences.

Hence why 25 era is bigger, despite Taylor having more hits and a bigger tour.

I can not say this to 25 comparing with 21, there is no doubt Adele and Taylor are two of the biggest superstars nowadays, but Taylor becomes BIGGER and BIGGER, so are her ERAs.

Looking back the ERAs, 25 was not planned well, not balanced well at least.

On the other hand, Starting from August, 2014, 1989 dominated more than ONE YEAR, first and second singles, even the FOURTH single topped Billboard Hot 100 chart.

1989 ERA>25 ERA.

That difference is big enough, what's so hard to understand ? When was the last time an album sold 20M WW in 5 months ? Excluding 21 ? A difference of 10M albums in 2016 is way more than enough.
