Finally got to listen. I like it a lot, but I'm not as impressed with it as I was hoping on first listen. I agree with the people saying the Alunageorge track was disappointing. It starts good but it goes no where for 6 minutes and builds into nothing.
Worst track on the album imo, and that was the one I was most excited for
Nothing to do with the pacing or catchiness, it just has no pay-off and hardly any semblance of a melody.
It sounds like she just woke up that morning, riffed for 6 minutes straight and called it a day. Some Minds is actually similar except that it at least rewards you for sitting through the slow first half. Which reminds me: why wasn't Some Minds included in the album?
It's one of his best songs.
But otherwise, so far my trinity (not including the previously released songs) is Numb & Getting Colder, Lose It and Tiny Cities. Aside from those, I feel like the best tracks are the ones we already heard (Never Be Like You, Say It, Smoke & Retribution).
) and Wall **** before and liked neither so this was a pleasant surprise.
