I remember the way there was a sense of togetherness because of the Olympics walking around London in 2012. Even when people were on their commute, you could just *feel* it was different. I remember being on a train and the train driver announced to us that we had finally (it took a while IIRC) won our first gold medal, and everyone cheered. It was cute. It's a shame it feels like it isn't going to happen with Brazil and more people are angry at about hosting rather than excited.
