They're actually taking their time on this one. They released "Pretty Girls" to test the waters out instead of releasing it as the first single. The song was horrible, but a smart move so that they could go back to the cutting board and record something of quality.

It seems successful in retrospective except for the singles that actually did well. But it was a disastrous era, and the narcoleptic state of mind she was in, didn't help and has tarnished her image quite a bit. Remember, there was tremendous hype before it started due to how successful Circus was. Femme Fatale, era-wise simply didn't live up to it.
