The previous season was also on a steady decline tho and the lead actress did not have an album coming out so now that is interesting

One of the previous episodes got 1.4 in demo and 2.64m viewers. With streamings and DVR numbers included the show increased FOR 1.3 demo and 800k viewers. Almost 100% percent increase in demo. Demo is what matters for networks and advertisers. Not to mention that FX is going to drop live rating and only use streaming/DVR since it's making them money.
We're probably gonna get 3-4 more seasons since it's the biggest show on the network and is pulling big numbers

Hotel is the 5th season of the super successful AHS series. 5th season means low ratings in most cases. But not with this one. Why? Let me spill the tea. AHS is a cable show. This means ratings are barely important. Streaming is. When you combine ratings and streaming Hotel remains the most successful season so far along with Freak Show. But I guess this is hard for most of you to comprehend.

As you know, sales have declined drastically. The same is happening with TV. Few tune in to watch their favourite show the moment it airs, including me. People watch their favourite TV show when they have the time to do so. Actually, most people in the real world don't spend time watching TV and 'dragging' everything that is more successful than them on online forums. This happens mostly with you, fellow ATRLers.



So there you go. Demo is doing fine. The ratings are amazing for an FX tv programme, they are so good that AHS outdoes every other FX show multiplied by two, sometimes even three. FX executives watch the overall numbers - which are most of the times similar to FS'. Ratings + streaming = S6 (it was renewed, unfortunately, for most of you, poor souls)



I see why this thread was made and I see why most of you who don't even watch the show give your false opinions. You still cannot put up with the fact that Gaga is the lead on one of the best TV shows ever and is getting rave reviews for her performance, even nominations.

The answer is that there really isn't any starpower this season. The story is meh and no one on the cast is above B-List status to keep the media on watch.

Because sis the first two seasons were building upon audience. The ratings might have been low compared to now but they were growing. The key word being is growing. They were not steadily declining every week. Now if you look at the ratings this year, they are declining every week. No other season of AHS has had this kind of weekly drop. So there must be a reason why people keep tuning out every week. Even Freak Show and Coven had bounces during the season.

I can only speak for myself. The whole season is lacking good actors. The ones that I enjoy (Sarah, Kathy, Angela...) are hardly getting any screen time while the cringeworthy ones are on all the time.
The only one that surprised me positively this season is Evan Peters.
