At the dermatologist now getting accutane. Mine isn't too bad, but ive had it for 6 years (it went away randomly summer 2014 but came back that winter) and I'm just done. Hopefully I won't have any problems in another few months

I used to have pretty annoying acne but it's barely noticeable now. most of this information has probably already been regurgitated over and over in this thread but
1. dont ever pick at it! ever! think about the things you were just touching before you put your hands on your face. keep your hands busy with something else and keep your mind of your skin. do something else. stop obsessing over it, remember that you're the biggest critic of yourself. most people will never notice or care about your skin (they're too busy worrying about themselves).
**if you're popping with clean hands in a bathroom, it's ok
2. wash your face day and night, maybe once in the afternoon with coldish, not hot water. soap is good.
3. avoid processed foods and sugary foods and fried foods (basically anything that tastes good). make yourself a boring sandwich.
4. drink lots of water. no soda. I found that milk wasn't v good for my skin.
5. get more sleep and change your pillowcase. try not to sleep on your face/sides.
6. if none of this works, get a checkup scheduled and casually ask your doctor about any treatments they can prescribe for your skin.
About a month in on Accutane and starting to notice improvements. All the bigger stuff is gone off my face and now there's just the annoying little red spots that hopefully will be gone in another month or so. Wish I was more patient I just want it gone now
