Britney and Beyonce don't have to prove themselves either, because they've already established themselves as bona fide superstars. Christina does not need a hit, because there's no rule saying she has to be a mainstream pop star forever. She's made so much money and she could easily pursue a career as a niche or indie artist.

While I personally don't see the appeal in most of these songs, I'd hardly call them generic (with the exception of a few). Yes, she is a major artist and she is flopping, but I think she's striving for quality rather than quantity this time. Her label probably hates her for it because it won't sell, but she's at least attempting to create a sound exclusive to her. These songs aren't all bad, and I respect the fact that she called on more diverse artists rather than copping out to the same ol' Tedder, RedOne, Timbo, Luke/Martin sound like everyone else is these days.

This may work in theory. But in practice, nothing of this sounds unique. She's not original nor she has quality. And in my opinion and the general audience, yes, they're bad. Very bad.

Re: "none of this sounds unique": I think the major problem here is that she absorbed the persona of her collaborators so a lot of these songs bear their mark and don't quite sound authentic to Christina. She needs to cool it with the raunch too, it's a bit gratuituous now.

Is there a satisfaction stans get when they say someone is obsessed? Essentially, you're obsessed and addicted to the said person's posts, if you're consistently responding to them. Maybe if you hold some of that anger, things can be lighter. Because, honestly Xtina fans should be the last laughing right now after the last 2 months you've had and the next year (or less) of disappointment to come.

I think the wierdest thing about this whole era is that in FOUR long years, this is the best she could come up with? while a few songs initially stood out, NONE are intersting enough to draw me back to them or keep me anticipating.... with the exception of "i am"

She's never been the quality songs Queen. I don't know why people expect so much from her. It may be the way she talks about her "artistry and vision".
