No. The industry is changing too quickly. Streaming is the future. Album sales are declining rapidly. They'll struggle to pull anywhere near their own past numbers.

But album equivalents are included to measure that change in the market.

Katy Perry had moved 49,897,000 digital tracks in the U.S. by 2013. Since then "Roar" did almost 6M, "Dark Horse" did almost 6M, "Unconditionally" did over 1M, "Birthday" and "This Is How We Don't" did over 1M when combined and then she has excellent catalog sales such as "Firework" selling 300k+.

There's no possible way she's below 65M singles sold in the U.S. I'd be stunned if her ringtone sales didn't add another 10M to that total, too

But no, she won't. Katy is currently on her way out as proven by the lackluster sales of PRISM, the last two singles from the album flopping, the media ignoring her, people ignoring her, award shows ignoring her. As of right now, all she has is touring (which she still lacks when it comes to Gaga). Gaga on the other hand has proven her longevity after winning her sixth Grammy seven years into her career and this year being one of her best since, like, 2010. Unless Katy goes through a massive image overhaul like Gaga is doing right now, which she won't since her label won't let her, she won't last much longer. She's a singles artist without impact and those kinds of artists are hot for a little while but are ultimately forgotten.

Plus album sales are falling every year so Katy will need three or four more albums to reach where Gaga is now.
