The notion that the US immigration system is "broken" in my opinion is a bit of a fallacy. The US lets in 1 million+ immigrants a year. That's more than any other country. It takes so long for someone to be a citizen b/c SO MANY people want to live in the US. If everyone who applied became a citizen in less than a year, we'd be accepting like 5 million a year and that is unsustainable and hurts our economy.
Plus, poor immigrants will never get priority for a reason, b/c they can't support themselves and will be a burden to welfare system.
