I don't understand what's going on with the album though. Where's the official 3rd single, where's the promo and what's the final release date?

They're not going to the third single yet (Let Me Know didn't count). Catfish is the 2nd single. The release date is October 2nd (this Friday). As for promo, they're integrating the various media outlets that feature Tamar in a leading position which is basically her TV presence. I think they should tackle radio more and make their approach to streaming a little more aggressive.
She takes advantage of The Real in a well-executed way but she should target the pop-r&b market solely for their visibility since her promo rollout has been very last minute. King should have been the 1st single because of this. Then Catfish in June. Then Angels & Demons in September. But the most attention should be given to King as it's a song that can crossover to different formats like film, advertising, social campaigns, etc. Plus it's a show-stopping performance piece that could build long-lasting hype in the same amount of time that viral hits could while still tying back to the
album and it's quality level.
Catfish then serves as the radio song that warms up her audience for a soul track while resonating with a younger audience. Its purpose mirrors that of The One actually. Plus it's a certified #bop.
Then Angels & Demons works because it's daring and the visual is stunning. It also maintains that the album will be fun to listen to after coming off the heels of Catfish. All the while, these three different singles help to move Tamar away from the stigma that R&B is "boring" or "stuck."
Then remind all audiences that this is an
R&B record with If I Don't Have You/Circles, preferably Circles since it's more relatable to the listener vocally (more people can execute Circles more easily than If I Don't Have You, I presume). But keep it as a radio single.
But she also has to promote. She doesn't have the same amount of visibility to her target market that the pop and rap artists have. Bringing back R&B is a task. King could and still can increase her visibility and get more people into the other cuts.
I'm a Mass Communications major so I have a lot to say about this kind of stuff. Sorry for the essay.
