At the time, it didn't feel like it. I was always more eager to be at home. It didn't really hit me until around graduation that I was going to miss it a lot. So, yeah.
Nah, not really. In retrospect they end up being simpler years which is why some people refer to them as the "best". But I know myself infinitely better than I did when I was a teen and for that I think my life now is better than its ever been, even with all of its complexity, and I only see things getting even better and more actualized from here.
No, high school was definitely fun and I loved (and miss) the lack of real responsibilities and having so much free time and time with friends, but I wouldn't trade that for the freedom and independence I have as an adult now. There isn't anything more satisfying to me than having my own space and being able to run my home as I see fit and come and go as I please -- even coming at the steep cost of being responsible for all the associated bills.
Now I think college was really the sweet spot since I got to have the best of both.
I mean, if you're the type who's always skipping, worried about a relationship, smoking, etc then yes I guess 'it was the best years'.
But if you were actually trying in High School (not even necessarily being a 'nerd' at all) as in worrying about passing your classes, not getting arrested, having a job, and trying to get into college then yes it's boring as hell. Who wants to be worried about allathat 24/7? So much stress on top of waking up at 7AM, dealing with teachers you don't like, and not having much freedom.
I know plenty of people that are literally slaying in school and still doing so many other things + having every weekend. I just think that depends on you and which school you go.
Grade 11 was the only year of HS I enjoyed, the rest was horrible. Senior year was the worst by far, I had a falling out with my friends so I had literally no friends and it was super stressful because I needed a 90% average to get into nursing at the school I wanted to go to.
