Exactly, if people didn't like the song then it wouldn't be doing well. The majority of people who purchase music are casual buyers, so they will buy a song simply becasue they like it and not because of who sings it.
Hence the fact that alot of well established artists are flopping or underperforming right now, take 'Russian Roulette' in the US for example (it did wel in the UK). That was expected to smash
