Most of the lyrics imply the song is about going out/drinking etc, the word 'twisted' in the UK is slang for taking drugs so... The production has sad tones though I'd say.
I don't know if 'sad' is the right word. Whenever I listen to it, I feel hope, I feel empowered, I could actually get emotional listening to it because I get chills due to the song's happiness. It's beautiful.
There are two certain parts that get into me: when she sings throughout the main chorus (in the back) and "He got friends for all of my friends". Love it!
It's ironically melancholic... Like she's singing "the night is still young and so are we" when she knows time flies and youth is short, idk why I get these vibes. WCS is also somehow sad for me.
