Taking a quick look at Kworb's sales projections for this week, I see that songs in the #80-#90 range are forecast to sell 13k copies, which is what If I Die Young needs to reach 5M. I don't see IIDY in the top 1000, so 5M might take a while (maybe 5-7 weeks?)

I get the impression Roughstock will make the announcement when it happens. The simple fact he mentioned the song might drive a few people to buy the song. That's why I was estimating a month, not a week. It should be the next 5 million seller of the 2010s though. Kworb said it finished #675 last week, with sales between 1-2k, so it may take 7 weeks. We'll see.

Before it became a single, it stayed in the top 70 on iTunes for weeks. I think it was already at a million when it crossed over to pop radio.l

If estimates are right, UF should hit 6.3 million this week. I need a link for confirmation though to update this list, so maybe if UF hits that mark they will provide one. We will wait and see.

I'm on my phone so I can't copy and paste the link, but as of 30 July HDD shows Uptown Funk is now up to 6.42 million downloads. That moves it from #16 to #13. Moves Like Jagger is not far ahead at #12, so UF should overtake it before August ends.

So we now know "Uptown Funk" sold 1.37 million copies in 2014. We've been trying to figure that out for a while.
