Whether it does or not, BEYONCÉ was the first ever surprise released album. She is the one who made the more impact, and Drake would've never surprise released his album if Beyoncé wouldn't have done it first. Same goes for all the other artists who "pulled a Beyoncé".
So much tea. Plus Drake is known for his huge first weeks. He's a rapper, for God's sake.
Mess at the Super Bowl being considered promo for a album that didn't exist at the time of the performance. So I guess Katy's SB performance is promo for her next album that doesn't exist yet.
Bey had no promo and she is the blueprint for surprise releases, no amount of crying will change that.
Yep, you're right, but even with a warning, these are all surprise releases. And Bowie's TND was
recorded in ultra secrecy and everybody thought he retired, so it may be the blueprint for such things.
good for Drake on those first week sales but what is he going to end up doing in the end? He doesn't have a single album that has sold on par or outsold any Bey album.

So you're saying ARTPOP should have been a surprise release?
Early forecasts for next week, when it will make both of our charts its girlfriend, are 550k+, while Republic believes it could hit the 700k mark. Could Drizzy beat the 618k bow of Beyonce's sneak attack album?
His 2013 set, Nothing Was the Same, debuted with 658k.
