Precious is cast with amazing black people and it's one of the best movies of our generation! Just because they're making a movie about Egypt that uses white people, that doesn't mean they want to whitewash race and African people! It was cast that way! You would prefer watching Denzel playing Christian Bale's role? Or Will Smith? They don't fit the roles! Find me one black/african actor who would fit in that particular role like a glove.

You have to understand that white people aren't in some kind of agenda against other races, and while some of us really in one, a lot of us are not! Hollywood is based on marketing and marketing only!

I'm not against other races, I'm just stating that you are wasting time with these kinds of discussions, especially when it's Hollywood related.

Bye at this comment like The Last Airbender got thrashed and disowned for whitewashing Katara and his brother even mismatching the race of Zuko as an Indian. They only time race should be considered in casting is if it's a historical fiction or a biopic where the race impacts the character/development of the story. Seeing as James Bond isn't a real person in history then why should there be a problem

He's a great actor and would make an awesome Bond but I've never been that keen on white characters being played by black actors.

Ancient Egyptians during the time of Rameses II were Africans. Ethnic Africans (a.k.a. BLACK PEOPLE) have the highest degree of phenotypic diversity in the world, and come in a multitude of different shades, but are still BLACK sis. Invaders from the East and North didn't conquer Egypt until long after Rameses II's death.

The assertion that Ancient Egyptians looked more white than black is ludicrous. They may not have all had dark skin like Lupita Nyong'o (even though some of them certainly did), but they were most definitely brown. They didn't look like Christian Bale, that's for sure.

And even if you were right your post is still problematic. If the Egyptians were so close to the Israelites and other people of the Near East, why not cast Middle Eastern actors? The erasure of all people of color is wrong.

Well I bet if people are gonna watch black actors playing Captain America or Batman, that would be nice. but then there are commercial sides to it and business in hollywood is in fact hellenistic and much worse world wide.

i mean an asian James Bond would be cool but most people in and out of the asian circles would probably think it's a joke and would probably not pay to see the movie.

The only ones I see to get thrilled of an poc James Bond are black people. It's not smart yet people would hate to see more reasons not to cast POC actors as lead actors if the films flopped.

You don't see white people playing slaves (who can only be black if it's US pre-Emancipation Proclamation), Jackie Chan type people, or President Obama. They have pre-determined races based on their real life race and/or their race in a certain medium.
