The only thing she has on him is sales. And that's because she's been out longer and she released pop singles for wider appeal. Kendrick as an artist is much more respected and critically acclaimed than her.

She has sales, money, cultural relevance, celebrity status, and I would argue overall influence in Hip Hop. He may be more critically acclaimed, but he still not on her level.

Commercially or skills-wise?
Because he has better flow, delivery, wordplay/lyricism, storytelling, and more artistry than she does.

She's really not taking this album launch fiasco well.

Everything you listed such as sales, money, celebrity status is transparent. Kendrick's album is one of the most critically acclaimed albums of all time of any genre. It will go down in history as a hip hop classic and be very influential in the hip hop community. Nothing from Nicki's discography has been important for hip hop thus far.

I mean career wise. That's like Britney paying respect to Ariana b/c she sings better than her.

She didn't lie, and the thread title is grossly misleading.

In what way did she not lie?
And how is the title innacurate? That's how pretty much everyone is interpreting her comments.

What do you mean transparent? Those are real things. And Nicki as a person has had more impact in hip hop now, and not potentially in the future like Kendrick. Nicki has helped the careers of countless rappers just by hopping on the a verse. Kendrick can't and hasn't done that. Nicki is the reason Iggy,Azealia, and Angel Haze are even signed to labels. Yes, Kendrick had a good album, but his impact stops there.

Sorry, no. If that's how she meant it she wouldn't have done the "oh I like him, I respect him" bit. Thats as subtle as her saying "no shade."
