Nope. Both from last BB year.
Beyoncé had DRiL, Partition & Pretty Hurts/Flawless, so all 3 had 3 singles.

Most of her success only came from AATB. She lacked in albums (obviously), tours (again, obviously) and social status - which all factor into the artist rankings.

Miley. But how? The tour didn't do amazing numbers and all her single success came from the previous year. Very impressed.
And Ariana and Katy.

That's actually not too shabby tbh. All About That Bass is #8 overall for the year, but she has almost nothing else (touring, album sales, social media)... yet.

Clearly the #4 album and #24 single (which had good recurrent airplay and sales well past January, but ok), a huge tour (though half its gross was outside the US anyway), and all the other factors BB counts put them at #1. It's not like anyone sold 5m this year, so I'm not sure what you're complaining about.
I assume Justin Timberlake is #5 mostly on the back of his huge tour. Iggy is #6 based just on singles since we know album sales and touring aren't doing much for her. You could nitpick the chart all day long based on perceived "dominance," but that doesn't change how the numbers crunch.
|
But when did I say that any of that didn't put them to #1?
As I said obvs the majority of the counting was touring for them, and obviously imo touring doesn't really back up the chart.
Did I say anyone sold 5M? I pointed out JT who sold 2 million which was deserved. Taylor had also sold over 2M and basically 2x any other artist + had a multi platinum #1 hit and Blank Space behind her. Katy also having a 1.5M selling album, a multi platinum #1 and 4 other moderate hits in the period would make sense for an Artist of the Year. People who beat 1D in singles and albums as well as maintained relevance to the adult general public and not just Tweens.
Idgi why you replied to my personal rant which said ignore then say "I don't know what to tell you. I don't know why you're complaining". If you don't have anything to say on it or know why I'm complaining you could've ignored as it said.

I'm guessing that the momentum from Wrecking Ball carrying over into the earlier parts of the BB tracking period, Adore You doing moderately well, and her social status/touring helped her place high.
