Mariah's sales in the US are slightly behind Madonna's. Not by much but she's not ahead of Madonna.

Mariah has the achievement of getting 60+ million sales in record time but she's not ahead.

MADONNA has confirmed her status as the most successful female act in Australian chart history.

Her new album MDNA became her 10th album that reached No.1 in Australia yesterday.

She is now third in the list of artists with the most No.1 albums in Australia.

The Beatles are first with 14 chart toppers, then U2 with 11, Madonna on 10, Jimmy Barnes with nine while John Farnham and Bon Jovi each have eight No.1 albums.

MDNA also topped the charts in Britain, Ireland, Sweden, Finland and Taiwan.

The Australian album sales follow the surprisingly lukewarm response to the first two singles Give Me All Your Luvin (which peaked at No.25) and Girl Gone Wild, which debuted at No.93 this week.

The superstar will tour Australia early next year.

Y'all literally only do that because Madonna tours better than every female, which is respectable but doesn't mean the eras are necessarily huge. Just means she's good with touring.

Soundscan only counts from 1991 so

No, Billboard counts everything that matters to popularity. I don't know about the sales but undoubtedly Madonna has more chart success than Mariah.

The Butterfly Tour still holds the record 16 years later with most tickets sold in record time in Japan with 200,000 tickets sold in under an hour

Mariah's two WW tours in the 90's broke records and were all sold out WW

No one is saying Mariah has outsold Madonna, we are saying she had the bigger peak which is a FACT

Even with Madonna's 80's shipments (which are more than actual sales) she has not outsold Mariah, soooo?

If touring counts then I guess the MDNA era was bigger than 21 (even though the attendance COMPLETELY didn't translate to sales; further proof touring doesn't fully connect to eras).
