Yes the hell she does. She is THE WALL. Not some skinny, waif bitch.
Per her creator: "There were and are reasons why she looked the way she did. I wanted her to seem formidable and visually unlike anyone else out there. Making her young and svelte and sexy loses that. She becomes more like everyone else."
In fact, the rail thin versions you're talking about have been critically panned.
The fat shaming.

Those sources you linked to don't prove much. CBR and The Mary Sue are niche opinion blogs, not exactly what you want to link to when you say that something is "critically panned." Sometimes Illustrations of comic book characters change after actors portray them in live action movies. Storm has been known to resemble Halle Berry in the comics because of the X-men live action movies. Now, Waller's new cleavage and sexed up look is definitely up for debate, but The New 52 Waller looks like Angela Bassett in the face from the GL movie.
Angela is neither rail thin, nor was her portrayal of Waller panned. The Green Lantern live action movie was critically panned, as a whole, not Bassett's portrayal of Waller.
Viola Davis is rumored to have been cast as Waller in Suicide Squad, and there's not a doubt in my mind that she will do the role justice (with or without a fat-suit).
