Celeb News: Taylor contradicts self again

Life is contradictory.
Dunno why we hold these girls up to unrealistic standards of consistency. Humans are dynamic.
You can photoshop your pictures, and still fight for women's equality
You can struggle with loving a former abuser, and still have a "take no ********" attitude
You can have a feud with a female, and still advocate for overall female unity
These are things that make us humans.
Not robots that can shut off every other facet of our lives and emotions to stay consistent with a singular message.

No one has time to deal with such pointless threads.
If this was about Beyonce, mods would close it in minutes.

I mean, she practically wrote a song about Camilla Belle, calling her a *****, and then cried when Amy and Tina made a JOKE about her on tv She truly can't handle any criticism, but she's totally fine with bashing other people in her songs.

Haters are always trying to find ways to shade Taylor.
The song doesn't take down Katy. Fans at the listening party already said this. Haters don't listen. Hate, hate, hate but it won't make your lies anymore truthful.

Not when most of Beyoncé-related threads remain open for hours, or even don't close
You should know

People grow up. That happened over 3 years ago. Are you telling me you haven't changed your habits, manners, or anything else in the last 15 years of your life?
I'm soooo glad girls like Taylor are maturing while others remain bitter and the same. Kudos to her.

Let's not act like 3 years = 15 years in terms of maturing and changing. Since she made a point out of telling everybody about this new song and how it's about another woman, I'd say that she hasn't matured much at all.

Right?! An old almost 3 centuries old joke making fun of a woman's dating life . Now that's real feminism .

But implying that another woman is a ***** is feminism?

A lot can change within a year itself. And um, you're contradicting yourself -- A LOT. Every song by every artists is written about "someone" and no one on this board knows what is actually written in "Bad Blood" to say that it's dissing Katy. All fans who attended the listening parties said the songs don't diss anyone. Just like "Shake It Off", that song is directed towards the media but it doesn't actually point the finger at anyone specifically. "Bad Blood" doesn't mention Katy, doesn't reference a celebrity, etc. It's just about a friendship unwinding.
Your argument is so invalid by saying someone isn't mature when their music is inspired by someone or events that happened. Unless Taylor outright calls Katy out in her music, then yes, she's contradicting herself. But we've been told she's wrote it in a poignant way that doesn't overtly call out Katy. It's been written in a way where we can all apply it to our own lives and relate to it.
There are some serious shady reaches in this thread.

her singing about an issue she has with another woman =/= complete strangers pinning them against each other for no good reason. That's the difference, she might have a reason to speak up about this particular female... the media? we? do not.

She was 17 when she wrote Better Than Revenge and she admitted to knowing it was not a good luck.
People can change their morals in a considerably short amount of time.

y'all have absolutely no idea what feminism is apparently. just because it's a movement to fight for equality for women among men, does not immediately protect them from criticism as individuals if they did something wrong. Taylor is not writing a song about womEn, it's about a womAn. A womAn who apparently did something to make her upset.
Like, you can't expect a songwriter to not write a song about someone who did them wrong, no matter the sex. Now, if Taylor was writing a song about, say... Britney Spears and Jessica Biel, THEN you might have some grounds for this "hypocrite" nonsense.

people change DRASTICALLY in just a years time... especially in the younger years of our lives. you are so pressed you can't even contribute a clearly thought out criticism. you should probably just leave the conversation.

Exactly. Taylor even said she recognizes Better Than Revenge was shaming another female but she was at that age where she wrote the way she did. Now she's grown up. I'm pretty sure she wrote "Bad Blood" in a classy & methodical way where it doesn't tear down Katy. She's said this many times. Fans at the listening party said the song could be taken in a very general way about a friendship ending.
People act like writing an emotional song about a friend or a man or woman = IMMATURITY.
Ok, so Britney, Adele, NSYNC, Sam Smith, Shania Twain, Katy Perry, etc are all immature. Ok. Great arguments people!
