Because I still can't make up my mind what to think about it. On the one hand I think it's great that she is embracing the feminist label and making aware of inequality by that. On the other hand I feel like it's kind of an empty claim as being a feminist has become kind of trendy which disregards the historical complexity of the term, I think.
I would like to clarify that I do not intend to shade Bey because I love her and I have been a fan for, like, 14 years now. I am just trying to form an opinion about Beyoncé's use of term "feminist".

Being a feminist is not exclusive to anyone, and Beyoncé was actually trying to say that by having Chimamanda define what it means to be a feminist out loud for everyone to hear. Also keep in mind Beyoncé has been writing feminist songs for 15 years. It's not a complex belief, it's simply someone who believes in social & economic etc etc equality of the sexes
Beyoncé's trying to say that you don't have to be a scholar to be a true feminist, she's trying to say that as a woman you can be everything at once which is the message of her album. She wants to show that women are allowed to be sexy, angry, vulnerable, kind, or loving and every other emotion, at any time because we're all human.
