There's nothing wrong with being happy of being straight, but to organize an actual pride for straights is unnecessary. They are aloud to freely express themselves without getting criticized or discriminated against, which is why events like Gay Pride and Black History Month should exist

The ignorance in this thread is disgusting. The main point of gay pride is to fight against discrimination and to increase acceptance of the LGBT. The LGBT is repressed by our patriarchal society EVERY DAY. People who are straight will never face the same struggles that those in the LGBT community face.

Saying that we should have straight prides is like we should have "menism" or we should have white surpermicist groups.

I agree with you. I don't feel the need to go marching and announcing my gayness. Is that really necessary? lol everyone knows, but why would I make a big deal of it.

What so many LGBTQA people fail to realize is how FAR we have come in such a SHORT period of time. What do y'all expect? All 50 states to all of a sudden accept and legalize gay marriage? That's absurd! And it would never happen! Do you think black people or women got their right like that? No lmfao it took years and years and years. But the strides that gay people have made in such a sort period of time, almost half the country legalizing gay marriage? That's great! Can't that be enough for now? Why rush? All great changes in history happened over time.....

It's enough for me anyway. I don't see the impatience of some of the gays

Well, this is a place where they have fun and be themselves without getting criticized for it. On a regular day, if you're walking around with your partner of the same sex holding hands or kissing, there's always going to be people that side eye you or complain about that ****. Just like Michael Sam got homophobes fuming on twitter just because he pecked his boyfriend on the lips because of all the barriers he's had to overcome in his life and being able to make the team. Or Conchita, who had people all over Europe disgusted that he won not for his vocals or his song (which is what should be the deciding factor), but because he dresses in drag. We have come a long way, but there's still a lot to accomplish.
