Well, I was just considering the fact that you say she shouldn't worry about flopping singles since she sold so much, but since Dignity only continued her flopping singles, but didn't back up with sales, she should now worry. IMO, I wouldn't want to go out of my music career if I had her totals and so early.
"With Love" actually sold well in the digital downloads department.
Well we have to consider the current state of album sales in the music industry. Plus, 13.5 million is actually really good considering when she first came out, people thought she'd have one hit album & disappear. She keeps trying & I think that her determination to do the album she wants will make her & her fans ultimately happy, regardless of how much the next album sells. (Although, I have a feeling it will sell more than "Dignity.")

Yea, and didn't they add "With Love" too early on iTunes and took it down, but it had alot of downloads in between that time that weren't counted? I think it'd have peaked higer if they had counted those too.
I want Hilary to keep doing the albums that she wants to do, honestly I don't think she cares about sales either, she just loves singing for herself and for her fans. But I do think the next album will fare better than "Dignity" has.

The album is pure pop. Yeah its true a lot of concepts were re-used, but, the music was amazing. And "No Work, All Play" and "Happy" are just wow. She really amazed me. I would've ignored the album had it not been for "With Love" being insanely addictive.
I never got what is so great about Dignity there's no Workin' It Out or The Getaway on it, is it?
However, I think Stranger is decent.
Not one of the songs resemble those, so I guess not. lol But I think it's just the fact that it feels more personal and the beats are better which makes it better. Plus what surrounded the album made it exciting.
The only reason Hilary flops is because she's hum-drum, bland. She's not particularly talented and to add insult to injury her songs are never very exciting or edgy. She needs a completely new and unique sound to set her apart. I'm not saying go and party and get drunk and high with LiLo, but at least try to connect with today's teeny boppers.

Uh really? What do you think is a new and unique sound? That's impossible these days because almost everything has been pioneered or perfected. Hilary isn't bland, nor is she hum-drum. And she's not talented? She's no powerhouse vocalist or dancer like Mariah, Madonna, Britney, or Janet, but her voice is good and she can write well enough to give feeling and relation to her music. Hilary does not want to connect with todays teeny-boppers, which is why she has had the image change and music change. She's an adult who wants and adult audience. And didn't you say you think people shouldn't come into a thread and bash? Yet your doing the same here.

Performance-wise, music-wise, just they are so different because Hilary just NEVER seems to try to bring it, while Britney and Madonna thrill at bringing it.

Okay, so I'll go load up my gun.
Hilary just needs some new choreographer (Fatima is not that good) and I'd be happy. I want to see some choreography that will force her to use an ear mic. She's a decent dancer now, she has some experience, so she can take it to the next level. Acting wise, she's brought it now, she's getting rave reviews in "War, Inc", and she still has "Greta", and "Safety Glass" coming out which I think will propel her up the acting ladder furthur, as long as she stays away from the tween roles, she should do well. Musically, I don't compare her to Madonna or post 2006 Britney Spears yet in the entertainment category, she has yet to start her big production performances/concerts yet, but she's getting there I believe. But her songwriting is on-point.
Hopefully we'll get some US award show performances this year, something we didn't get with Dignity but got with all her other albums.

I agree, Its not that she cant get the steps down. She never messes up. BUT its just that she doesnt give it that little jerk in the end. Its like she does the move and thats it. Theres absouloutly no... ZAM! It's like give Beyonce her choreography and she'll be doing all this stuff with the choreograyphy. And the worst part is that its the type of things ANYONE can do. Like adding a little pop.
