Most bird species have a nurturing father figure like Penguins and Rheas. And for primates you have the marmosets (monkeys).

Not really. If you raised boys saying dresses are for boys and dresses are cool and manly I'm sure that they would love to wear dresses, even though now we see that as feminine. From when boys they are told to act tough, and hang out with boys and stuff. If he wants to watch Hannah Montana or play with barbie he will be told no and that it's for girls so he won't want to do it. These roles are completely constructed by society.

Not true, those things are taught at an early age. I'm sure if you've give the girl a chance to play with the truck she would've. But since most parents wouldn't for whatever reason that thinking is flawed. Gender roles are social construct and kid are kids. Most would play with anything they liked.

We're talking more on the lines of:

Woman: Stay home, tend to the children, cook, and keep house clean.
Men: Go out and work, bring home money, and support family.

Those are examples of Gender Roles.

No, not at all. Both genders can and sometimes should take on both roles, but read my next quote.

Well, in a modern society like the US, Canada, UK etc. Females are afforded the opportunity to work, education, etc. so it is easier for those lines to be blurred and sometimes crossed. But, the whole world isn't. Couples are still marrying in poverty and the easiest and most commonly known way of survival is still for the male to seek work and the female to take care of the responsibilities at home especially if they have newborns that need their mothers for nurturing. The survival of humans has depended on this simple structure for hundreds and thousands of years and as long as there are people born in poverty it will continue to be the most used social convention.
