I do find some degree of logic to this.

Her releasing on digital first and selling a lot may have had a negative effect/shifted on her physical selling power. As in her fans who usually bought her physical CD's may have already gotten a digital copy since it was the only way you could get one thus she may sell less physically this time around.

With that said I don't get how you say you won't sell the album all-together though

We'll see in a few days. Targets decision to do this DURING THE HOLIDAY SEASON will only hurt them. Because People want Beyonce's album, and they will get it-- if not at Target somewhere else.

They didn't carry Nicki because they didn't think it would be profitable. Wal-Mart didn't either. It was literally ONLY Best Buy or FYE. They have the same reason for Bey and Frank. It has NOTHING to do with race.

It's a bummer but Target is not "pressed" or "salty". It's a business, and not a business that really focuses on music sales. They carry a lot of exclusive albums but the music sections aren't huge like at other places. It's not personal because Beyonce didn't give them the exclusive, it's what they feel is best for business. It's not a person, it's a corporation. Personal feelings play literally 0 part in this.

They are making a statement by not carrying the album at all. "We won't carry your album if you give timed digital exclusivity."

They don't want other artists to do this in the future.
