Patrick is the perfect balance of awkward and earnest which makes him an easily lovable main character. While I quite like Dom, I didn't feel anything for Agustin and his partner, and unfortunately I think I'm going to grow tired of their inevitable relationship dramas. It was a bit slow at times but good first episode nonetheless. Can't wait to see where it goes
I didn't have problem with what it was representing tbh, I had problem with terrible acting, writing, bland(and underdeveloped) characters, borring(and horrible) storylines, lack of direction in story etc.
So that's why I hope this show has better team working on it, not beacuse of what it will represent.
All of this. QAF is not bad because of how it represents gays (bc in all honesty it hits on a lot of the main types of guys out there, albeit as caricatures of real people half the time). It is bad because it's poorly made mess with ****** acting and atrocious writing.
The show looks good, but episodes are so short
I really like the pilot, i think it will get better.
I really hope they will concentrate on relationships and stuff and not the typical coming out/gay bashing stuff
They do NOT need to shave, they look beautiful the way they are.
. And they're pretty accurate to the way a lot of gays (or men in general) in the bay area look anyway. Perfect as is.
I actually loved the first episode! I think what I liked most was that it wasn't too campy like most shows directed at gay audiences. It has a nice (and hot) cast of characters with a pretty wide range of personalities. I've never seen Queer As Folk so I can't speak on for the QAF fans here. I'm sure Looking will only get better with time. This was a really solid pilot and I finally felt like I could relate to the characters on a gay show for once.
