Time to start off the Top50...
50. Carrie Underwood "Don't Forget To Remember Me"
"We were loading up that Chevy, both trying not to cry..."
From the biggest selling album of 2006 comes this beautiful country ballad, my favorite single from Some Hearts so far. I didn't like the song so much when it came out, but after a few listens I got obsessed with it. Carrie sings about going away from her family and how the title says she ask them to never forget to remember her. I'm sure the next single Before He Cheats is gonna be huge next year.
49. The Killers "When You Were Young"
"He doesn't look a thing like Jesus, but he talks like a gentleman..."
The Killers made a big comeback this year, and the first single was something completely different from what they've done before. The video made me like the song a lot more. The video pictures a dramatic love relationship between a just married couple that perfectly describes the song. When You Were Young can't compare to the masterpiece that is Mr. Brightside, but still managed to make my top50 this year.
48. Janet Jackson f/ Khia "So Excited"
"Throw me up against whatever's close and get to bossin me around..."
Just like The Killers, Janet Jackson tried to make a comeback this year, but it failed miserably. The first single Call On Me wasn't something that I expected from her, but she definately put herself back on my good list with this song. When I heard the song was gonna feature Khia, I thought it was going to be a disaster, but Khia made the song better. Hopefully she can release one more single next year to see what happens.
