Y'all are a mess.

Not everyone likes to drink, ****, and/or smoke. And if one is a religious person, that's perfectly fine. It's okay to be different. As long as we respect and not hurting others.

The rest end up changing their minds a few years down the road well before marriage but they hardly ever come out and say, "You know, that's what I thought when I was 16 but I got older, things change and I wouldn't recommend making proclamations like that to younger pop stars coming up now."
There is nothing wrong with a 16 year old being a virgin but famous kids who proclaim it so loudly, it's just inviting others to be on Purity Watch, gleefully trying to catch them slipping off their pedestal. Nine times out of ten, the purity ring quietly disappears in a couple of years, the lyrics/photo shoots get a little racier, they're vacationing/practically living with a bf/gf.

If you want to be a virgin and 'clean', fine. You can do and be whatever you want, but don't make public claims like that. Made a promise about that to yourself, that's enough. Public claims like this is only going to put him on a ridiculously high pedestal, of which is impossible to live up. Just don't whine when people drag you to hell once you 'failed' them.
