I hated 'Déjà Vu' with a passion but this song is just woah and the video suits it perfectly. This sorta sound is never normally my thing but I love it.
As for the video I think the budget was clearly low and that's nothing to do with Muller she's working with what she's been given, the label should have put more money forward really. But the cheap theme kinda adds to the realness of the video. This is about the emotions of a woman who is falling apart, scared and angry and Bey shows that throughout. The scene with her sat there looking tired and emotionally empty - just perfect. The song is about one woman's anger and subsequent rollercoaster of emotions. This video perfectly showcases that. It shows realness not the normal fake, flashy scenes you get elsewhere - the type with all the 'bang!' etc but empty and pointless.
This era Bey's videos have been different to every other hip-hop/R&B video. She's doing something different from the usual dance routine/ass shaking/ im my man's property which is often the case with most other videos in the genre, 'Déjà Vu's' video was VERY European (most likely as SM is a British director) and again was different. People need to stop looking for this to fail just to see someone big falldown. What's come out of this era so far is 1 good song, 1 bad song but 2 different videos. I'm happy with that and have high hopes for the album
