Not by much...and look at the extremes of which Frank had to go through just to get that few hundred thousand more copies sold. In the meantime, "Adorn" has been a bigger hit than anything Frank put out. Hell, "Adorn" was even a bigger 'pop' hit than anything Frank's seen thus far. And "Adorn" isn't the only Miguel song that has outpeaked Frank's.

Exactly. But people just love to hate on Frank for no reason. It's so pathetic, if only they knew how stupid they look

Miguel >>>> Frank. People are finally realizing this.

excuses excuses excuses. At the end of the day Frank outdone Miguel in every single area that matters. Doesn't matter if one of them is currently 139 and then other one is 141 on Billboard

Fortune flopped WW, but CO didn't? Sis, Fortune has better charts than CO globally that indicates it sold more in the majority of the countries CO charted in.
Flop album or not, they're close in sales

Channel ORANGE is a good album (I actually bought it), but its sales are disappointing. It has received unbelievable hype & hasn't even crossed 600K in the states. I know he didn't get any big hits from it, but TOY was a nice-sized urban hit & sometimes, hype like he's received can sell an album without the singles.

As much as he's been propped and talked about, that album should be no less than RIAA-certified double platinum. Frank is all hype, by way of stunts. Seriously, what's he gonna reveal before the release of his next album to keep up the press: that he's having a sex change operation?
|
You girls REALLY do the absolute most with Frank and this hype. Where is the hype at? Actually, I am certain that the Tumblr letter is more talked about than his music and half of you girls didn't even know about Franklin until the letter anyway.

Him selling an extra 70k+ is not that big of a difference? and dead at "all the promo" when Chris dropped Fortune, tweeted "buymyshit"and announced a new album one month later. Frank shows up at every award show, gets overhyped to the heavens, goes on stage, sound a mess and sell a few extra copies the next week. Wasn't he even at the Brits? mess. and I'm certain Fortune outsold it on a WW scale.

Anyway, Miguel >>

Yes, he was at the BRITs and he was the 2nd biggest gainer from his appearance on there, your point EXACTLY is what? While Channel Orange was scanned Gold in the UK, Fortune remains getting paid in complete dust and I need you to provide these WW numbers that you keep speaking of because I am certain that Fortune has NO certifications at all but the US. So, Chris went #1 in the UK and still hasn't seen a Gold certification, KI, poor dat.

Music evolves over time, "pure R&B" or not, they still make music that is rooted in R&B. . .

and these are just by certifications. There are many countries still unaccounted for
Frank hit gold weeks ago, and before the Grammys.
I'd guess he's closer to around 800k worldwide by now

You girls make NO sense at all. Extremes? I am 100% sure that Miguel has done more promo for KD than Frank has done for CO and that is a fact and at the end of the day a hundred thousands copies is the difference between seeing a Gold certification and not seeing one at all.

It's not an excuse. It's called using your brain. Everyone knows that the AOTY winner almost always gets the biggest boost, and M&S were already selling well before their win, so you comparing M&S's boost to Miguel's is dumb.
And if Miguel didn't get a bump, then neither did the great white hope, Frank Ocean. Did you not see his boost after the awards? Kind disappointing.

He's nobody's prince of anything. I guess it's all talk.
|
I mean its whatever I'm not calling him the prince of R&B but he has the critically acclaimed album of 2012 and has the best selling male R&B album this year. He's doing fine.

would you rather have me guess? I thought I was being fair for counting certifications rather than irrational assumptions .

Admitting that Frank had better promo opportunities? okay.

Mess at you sitting here and pretending like Chris' only promo in the UK wasn't his singles (that all did well, btw) for OBVIOUS reasons. And like I said, Even IF, Frank outsold him on a WW scale, it's probably not by much and at the end of the day, they BOTH did poorly. Frank especially for all the hype everyone was giving him. So "ki" or whatever on that. The hell do you look like sitting here defending a a 650k or so selling album? Stick to that acclaim thing.

I give him that. He's doing good but for the hype that his particular stan is tying to give him in this thread, it's definitely not all that.

And your point?
He had all the exposure all night. Two Grammys on TV + a full-length performance. His boost was disappointing, and Miguel got a bigger one.

A 2k sales difference isn't all that much why would you think something like that would put Miguel above Frank?... The important thing is, he still has more sales, recognition, acclaim, and accolades than Miguel.
