Lana has given me various wonderful memories this year. From my friends imitating her
electra complex to the nostaligc associations I have with dozens of her songs, including
demos. Her music, as a whole, has been a soundtrack to my 2012. Her image and sound
was a fresh cup of tea for me, as well, and a great addition to my list of favorite artists.
I adore this chick. She's beautiful, talented, one-of-a-kind and incredible. She's everything
anyone could want in a star - she's got an enormous, incredible wardrobe and slick pop jams.
Easily one of the most underrated pop artists in the world right now, Neon Hitch is a
phenomenal singer/songwriter with such potential and it really makes me sad. I discovered
her and how AMAZING she is over the course of this year. I'd like to say she's going to slay
the Earth in 2013, but I really can only hope for the best for her. She deserves everything.
I spent the summer watching interviews and documentaries of her all over the internet.
Basically, she's a gypsy who has lived all around the world and landed a deal with Benny Blanco.
I also downloaded anything I could get my hands on of hers. Even her rough demos smash.
If you've never heard Neon, you should do so ASAP. Here's my favorite (co-written by Sia! [before it was a thing ])
If this wasn't clear, Ke$ha has been the center of my entire year and the artist I adore the most.
Flop or smash, she has served me every single thing I have asked for and more, and I will be
continuing to love and support her. I mean, she's flawless. Not to mention she's the artist
I can most easily relate to in all of the pop world. I just adore her. She's amazing.
It's just everything about her, really. I can't even put it into words. So here, my #1 artist of 2012.
Tomorrow, I will reveal my top 5 EPs of 2012. Stay tuned!
Thank goodness Kesha released this last part of 2012. Would she have been on your chart if she didnt release this year?
She would've made an appearance, most likely. I'm not sure where, that all depends.
Then again, M.I.A. is another favorite of all time and she didn't make my list this year
Why did K$ disappoint you? I am in love with Warrior. The whole under-performance fiasco is upsetting but, eh.
Because I know she's capable of much more. A handful of songs on Warrior are pop perfection but the rest are either mediocre or they just didn't reach their full potential.
It's almost like Warrior sounds the opposite of rushed... like all these months of anticipation were spent doing little to nothing.
